Translation review: [Commie] Busou Shinki 01

I haven’t seen the webcast Busou Shinki a while ago, so this whole world is new to me. Commie was the first to release.

Note: 武装神姫 (busou shinki) translates into “armed divine princess”.

Looks good to me.

“… because you’ve been with Master for the longest time.” (Referring to how she’s been with him since his childhood.)

The dialog is as simple as can be. There aren’t any problems with the translation.

The other way around. “You missed me, didn’t you?”

The ending’s fine too.

Conclusion: Great

Not that it’s hard to do well with this show. The dialog is the difficulty of the simple English Wikipedia, and the show has closed captions.

  1. What’s your opinion of the puns Commie use for Maochao and Howling? I’m no TL, but as far as I can tell they were added at editing and aren’t part of the Japanese dialogue.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to a bit of a liberal take on the dialogue, especially for a show like this, I just wanted to know if I’m right or if my limited Japanese is failing me.
