Translation review: [Hatsuyuki] OreImo S2 01

Watching this show is a pain.

OK

Is it just me or the colors don’t match?

Ws

“Kyou-chan, what’s wrong?” “With what?”

Sho

It can’t be helped.

Phrase

This whole dialog between them could be done way better. Somehow every line feels like it just misses the point a little. But as that adds up I had to read the text about three times to figure out how it can make sense as a translation to what’s being said.

Assoc

Athletics Association, not her club.

English

“This got me totally fired up!”

Try

He’s obviously not trying to annoy her.

Song

Good enough.

Conclusion: Okay

Accuracy: 7/10; Flow: 6/10; Atmosphere: 5/10

The accuracy is fine, but watching this release was almost as challenging as just watching the show. There’s hardly any characterization whatsoever, it doesn’t read natural at all, and you know, setting the tone is a part of the translation too. The words are usually there, but it’s just not enough.
