Script Review: [FFF] Salami@Fuck.This.Show (Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, Episode 3) This entry was posted by brainchild.
Vale pls stop.
f/a/ggotry: 4/5 – Really faggy. Honorifics included, words arbitrarily translated or untranslated, English translation + Romaji for the opening + mother fucking k-timing.
“[…] just like the original story.”
This doesn’t have to be complicated. “Fable” sounds retarded, just like the game.
SHAFT QUALITY right there.
Also, without even hearing the audio, you know exactly what she said in Japanese. FFF is good like that.
I don’t even see the actual anime anymore. All I see is a little sister, perverted brother, titty monster.
It’s kinda funny. FFF is probably considered one of the more literal or “proper” groups, at least compared to Commie or gg, because they don’t “overtranslate.” Anyway, it’s kinda funny because FFF’s releases are usually pretty schizophrenic when it comes to “untranslatable” words. Yaoyozoru isn’t directly translated in Commie or gg’s release, yet it is here. However, words like onii-chan or –nee are not. I guess it would be jarring for weeaboos to come across a word they don’t know the translation to, so FFF will translate it but still throw in those gimmes (e.g., nii, nee, etc.) for them to feel better about their Japanese knowledge.
Oh yeah. Why doesn’t the dialogue match the typesetting? I don’t actually care about typesetting very much, but I’m just wondering, since Sasami’s basically dictating her thoughts.
Really? Internet Explorer? Come on, SHAFT. Now you’re not even trying.
Here’s another example of, uh… What’s the word I’m looking for? Oh right, “translation.” Yamata-no-Orochi has been translated as “Eight-forked Serpent.” FFF, you’ve got a lot to learn!
I thought I’d just point out that it looks like her third arm is masturbating.
Pointless tip of the day: You don’t actually have to capitalize Earth here. Doesn’t really matter to me either way, though.
Yeah, me too: “Okay, I’ll fix this.”
Anything but this pointless repetition would work.
One “had” would’ve sufficed. What the hell were you thinking, man?
One funny scene. Two to go?
There’s really not much to keep me going after this review. A few decent jokes isn’t enough to carry this terrible show.
Okay, time for science, bitches.
This is a really fucking annoying thing that people say. Unless the clan specifically began the host lineage with physically weak individuals, it is highly unlikely that the offspring would be physically weak. It makes even less sense when Sasami’s brother is most certainly not weak, considering all the shit he does for her and how quickly he does it. Inbreeding only increases the chance for homozygous recessive OR dominant alleles to be passed on to other generations. It’s not like inbred offspring have mutant limbs, nor are dominant traits analogous to good traits. Just look at Huntington’s disease.
Source: A BIO 180 class I took a couple years ago. 🙂
Is there something wrong with the word “pill”? You see her take a pill.
If you really want to use medicine, you could say, “I had to take medicine that clouded my thoughts and abolished my desires.”
All of them? 😉
Man, that’s not how Mario taught me to type.
My body’s moving on its own! Heh.
“He’s the one who decided to take action.”
“He drew conclusions” is just really terrible. “He came to that conclusion” might’ve worked, but the first line and the decided part already implies the third arm did not suggest anything for her brother to do.
Wise words, FFF.
“Let’s walk and talk.”
She’s a rather carefree person, so you should probably make her sound that way. The original is just really unnatural.
See, without this second line, the first really would’ve been “what the fuck?”
SHAFT QUALITY CONTINUES.
We Strike Witches now.
A little better than the first.
“[…] and cultivated it.”
You’re getting there!
If only there was a word for sensing someone’s smell… Oh wait, there is!
“I can still smell him, so I was sure I’d find him here, [but …]”
“We, the Yagami sisters, have a duty to support Sasami’s laziness!”
The subject of FFF’s original line is just pants-on-head retarded. The release was okay for the first half, but it really degraded by the end. Maybe you guys should hire a new editor. I’m making the very generous assumption that you had an editor to begin with. Or maybe that’s insulting in this case…
TL;DR? It’s okay.
FFF has a so-so release. I could understand everything without having to reread any lines, save for the ones that just made me say, “Wat.” Well, almost everything, but that’s what context is for!
However, there were a lot of questionable lines. For how long it took them to release, it’s really inexcusable. Not to mention, there’s literally no differentiation between characters in the subtitles. Unless you really want arbitrarily untranslated words, there’s little reason to watch this release over gg’s, when the only difference is like k-timing and honorifics.
